Crazy Weekend

Hi all! Thursday evening with met with an agent that represents a builder in town. Remington homes has started 2 houses on the north side of Ankeny that sounded promising. After our meeting we were excited about the homes but knew we need to sell our house before we could write an offer. Friday morning the agent called and said that she had talked to the builder and he was willing to accept a subject to sale for us and switch which roofline he is putting on which house so we can have the lot we want. We wouldn't write an offer until we had seen a completed home that he had built, so the agent made an appointment for our agent, Karen, and us to see a home that a family has been living in since October. The family was so gracious! At 6pm we walked through the house and had the bonus of talking to the family. They were great telling us everything they'd change if they could do it again. The house is beautiful and well built. We went to our house, wrote an offer, and lowered the price on our house. We'll see what happens from here!

Saturday morning Kurt and I and Jenny and Greg headed to Wisconsin to see Jimmy Buffett in concert. We made it to tailgate about 3:30. It was chilly and windy, but we bundled up and had a great time. Parrotheads sure do know how to throw a party! Some of the set-ups were quite impressive. Some who are "regulars" to the concerts say that this was pretty tame because of the cool weather.

About 6:30 or so we cleaned up our tailgate to head in to the concert. I added fould weather gear so that I could stay warm. Thank goodness I did because by 8:00 when the concert started the rain had started too! Summerzcool (Summer School) was in session and it was awesome! Wet, cold, and awesome! A guy in front of us had brought in a plastic pink flamingo. At one point security came and gave the falmingo a serious once over to be sure it wasn't a bong. It wasn't, it was just a 2 foot beer cup decoration. Amazing things you see....

After the concert we were amazed at how easy it was for us to get out of the lot and hit the highway. We drove an hour to Rockford, IL to spend the night.

Sunday we made it home about 3:00. Kurt went to work and I went to see Dad and Adam. After a yummy dinner at Fridays Adam and I headed home. At bedtime I asked Adam what the good part about his weekend with Grandpa was. His answer "Listening to Jimeny Buffett with Grandpa!" The concert was live on Sirius radio so the boys had fun on Grandpa's new deck. Jimeny Buffett must come from Jimeny Cricket. Made me laugh!
