4H Camp

This summer Adam decided he wanted to try out 4H Camp.  4H is not just for farm kids anymore!  4H Day Camp picked Adam up in Ankeny at 7:15 every morning and dropped him off about 5:15 each evening for a week.  During the week he got to swim, play gaga ball (the game in the pen below. Google it for the rules), do archery, climb the rock wall, do a creek walk, crafts, you name it.
Adam decided to sign up for Day Camp Plus which let him spend the night on Friday night at camp.  His cabin for the all-nighter was Elm.  He picked a top bunk, surprise!  Iowa has had next to zero rain all spring, so of course it chooses to downpour for Adam's overnight.  It didn't faze him a bit as they did s'mores inside the bbq house and still had tons of fun.  He got the "good manners" award from his Day Camp counselor.  Jordan said that Adam was his best behaved camper.  This makes a mama happy!  From his overnight counselor he was given the "Best Dancer" award for his moves on the pool deck on Friday.
Adam really wants to do another week this summer, but his camp budget is already broken so he will have to wait until next summer to escape to camp again.
Enjoy the pics!  Many of these are from "bunk1" the site that the camp can post to for parents.  It was fun to get a look at some of the camp fun since I didn't get to go.
